2023 Grand Marshall
This year our Glen Ellyn 4th of July Grand Marshall is Billy Williams, former Major League Baseball left fielder from 1959 to 1976, playing primarily for the Chicago cubs. He was named the National League’s Rookie of the Year in 1961 and inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1987. In 1980, Williams and his family moved to Glen Ellyn and he began working as a coach for the cubs, for nearly two decades.
Grand Marshal Nominations
The Glen Ellyn 4th of July Committee is seeking Grand Marshal nominations for its annual 4th of July Parade. The selection committee will consider things such as each candidate’s community service involvement, volunteerism and leadership. The nominations must include background information on each candidate. Please include the name, address and telephone number of the nominator. Nominees must consent prior to being nominated.
